What Is Morpheus8?
Morpheus8 is a minimally-invasive rejuvenation treatment that combines modular radiofrequency (RF) energy with microneedling. The Morpheus8 handpiece is part of the EmbraceRF platform by InMode. EmbraceRF delivers modular RF energy to both the skin and underlying fat for more efficient lifting, contouring and tightening. The Morpheus8 handpiece takes things up a notch with microneedling technology that delivers the RF energy to the deeper layers of the skin.
Morpheus8 is a nonsurgical alternative to a mini facelift. It tightens the skin, smooths wrinkles and remodels fat to create a more youthful appearance. While it is commonly used on the face, the device can be used virtually anywhere on the body, including the neck, chest, abdomen, thighs and buttocks. The treatment is minimally invasive, with the handpiece delivering microneedles and RF energy deep into the skin and fat tissues. The device includes different microneedle configurations for different conditions and areas of the skin. Because this is a fractional resurfacing treatment, it does not cause substantial damage to the epidermis, making it suitable for nearly all skin types.

How does Morpheus8 work?
The Morpheus8 handpiece has a disposable head with 24 coated needles. These needles perforate the skin while the EmbraceRF platform delivers RF energy deep into the dermis and underlying fat. This causes controlled heating of tissues to about 104-122°F (40-50°C). This heating triggers collagen production and fat coagulation, resulting in tighter and younger-looking skin with improved facial or body contours.
The Treatment
Before your treatment with Morpheus8 Tampa Bay providers may apply a numbing cream to the treatment area to keep you comfortable. They will then press the tip of the Morpheus8 handpiece against your skin and move it in a stamping motion. You may feel slight burning or prickling but no significant pain. Most patients describe this treatment as tolerable.
After about 30 minutes, your treatment should be complete. You may notice mild pinpoint bleeding and redness immediately after treatment that should subside within 24 to 48 hours. You may resume your daily routine after a few days. However, it is a good idea to avoid direct sun exposure, harsh ingredients and makeup for the first day or two after treatment.
The Results
Your Morpheus8 results will gradually appear within two weeks after treatment and will continue to improve for up to three months. Results appear gradually as the new collagen and elastin fibers begin to form and the underlying fat remodels. Over time, you will notice smoother, tighter and brighter skin, along with more youthful contouring. Jowls may appear less noticeable, and there will be an improvement in overall skin quality and facial contours.

Although the Morpheus8 treatment involves needles, it is generally comfortable. The needles used for this treatment are ultra-fine and create only microscopic injuries. The RF energy delivered to the skin and fat is also gentle enough not to cause significant discomfort during treatment. We offer Pro-Nox™ nitrous oxide (laughing gas) to patients to make the procedure more comfortable.
We may ask you to discontinue medication and supplements that increase your risk of bleeding, like aspirin, ibuprofen, vitamin E, St. John's wort, etc. It is also a good idea to stop using retinoids and harsh exfoliants in the week leading up to your treatment.
After treatment, you should avoid direct sun exposure, saunas and harsh skincare products for at least the first 48 hours. You will need to use a gentle cleanser and moisturizer during your recovery.
Some patients notice a near-instant improvement in the quality of their skin; however, it usually takes at least two to four weeks before noticeable improvement. As the skin’s collagen and elastin fibers grow and the underlying fat remodels, you will notice an improvement in your skin quality and facial contours.
You can expect your results to last for up to a year, especially if you follow a good skincare routine and live a healthy lifestyle. To maintain your results indefinitely, yearly treatment is recommended.
