About Juvederm
The Juvederm family of dermal fillers is produced by Allergan Aesthetics, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of cosmetic injectables. Juvederm offers six different fillers, each with unique properties and benefits.
The active ingredient in all Juvederm fillers is synthetic hyaluronic acid (HA). HA is a naturally occurring compound found in our skin. It is highly hydrophilic, attracting 1,000 times its weight in water. The synthetic form found in dermal fillers acts the same way — attracting water and restoring volume and elasticity in the skin. Because our bodies do not see HA as a foreign substance, there is minimal risk of allergic reaction and other adverse events. Juvederm can help rejuvenate the face by smoothing out fine lines and wrinkles, restoring volume to hollow areas like the temples and tear troughs, lifting the cheeks and volumizing the lips. It can also be used to address many other cosmetic concerns, including those in younger patients. The effects are temporary but long-lasting.

JUVÉDERM VOLUMA® XC

JUVÉDERM VOLLURE® XC
This dermal filler can also help correct moderate to severe wrinkles and folds, especially those forming around the mouth and nose (e.g., marionette lines and nasolabial folds). Because it is also made with Vycross™ technology, Juvederm Vollure® XC creates smooth results and does not affect facial movement.
JUVÉDERM VOLBELLA® XC

Frequently Asked Questions
Juvederm fillers have a smooth consistency compared to the granular consistency of many other filler brands. This helps create a more natural look and feel. Furthermore, Juvederm is more cross-linked, which creates longer-lasting formulas with more predictable results (i.e., a lower risk of migration or lumps).
A Juvederm treatment is a minimally invasive procedure you can have on the same day as your consultation. Your provider will examine your skin and walk you through the treatment steps. After cleansing your skin, they will inject a small amount of product into the treatment area. Because all Juvederm fillers contain 0.3% lidocaine, pain and discomfort are minimized. The treatment takes about 15 minutes and requires no downtime.
The smooth gel formulation of Juvederm creates immediate volume and lift. However, the product does take time to settle into the skin and begin attracting water, usually about a week. The full results develop in about two weeks.
Juvederm fillers are among the most durable on the market. How long your filler will last depends on the particular filler used, the site of injection and how fast your body metabolizes the product. In general, you can expect your filler to last between six and 18 months.
As with any prescription drug, there are possible side effects with JUVÉDERM®. Most are mild and tend to resolve on their own within a week or two. These include redness, swelling, pain, bruising, discoloration and lumps.
